Most knew there was a problem with plastic waste coming from single use coffee pods, we also knew that the large coffee companies we very slow to adapt in addressing the problem. However, what we did not know was how bad the problem really is. In 2018 an estimated 56 billion pods ended up in landfills. What's staggering is most take between 150-450 years to biodegrade.

Small efforts have been made from the large coffee companies in order to make them recyclable however given that most use several different materials, many recycling facilities are not equipped to deal with them.

Reusable Coffee Pods - Forever Green

We have addressed this problem with our reusable coffee pods range and they are relatively simple to use. An additional benefit of using these is you are no longer tied into a particular brand. They are easy to clean, durable and can last for up to 10 years. This brings the cost of each use to less that €0.01 per use. The single use pods actually cost an estimated €0.30 per use.

If you have any reservations on making the switch over to reusable coffee pods, then check out this guide for more info on how to use them.
